This page describes the cookies and similar tools used on control-management.it. Everything else (data sent through the forms, retention periods, your rights) is covered by the privacy policy (in Italian).
What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that a site stores in your browser to remember information from one page to the next or between visits. Some are essential for the site to work. Others measure visits or the effectiveness of advertising, and we use those only with your consent.
How we ask for consent
On your first visit a banner shows three equally prominent choices: Accept all, Reject and Customise. Closing the banner with the X keeps only the technical cookies. Statistics and marketing stay off until you choose.
We remember your choice for 6 months and then ask again. We only ask sooner if the services described here change. You can change your mind or withdraw your consent at any time:
The same option is in the “Cookie preferences” link at the bottom of every page and in the round button at the bottom right.
Technical cookies (always on, no consent needed)
They make the site work and keep it secure. The legal basis is our legitimate interest in the security of the site (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) and Art. 122 of the Italian Privacy Code, which does not require consent for these tools.
| Cookie | Provider | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
cm_consent | control-management.it | 6 months | Remembers the choices you made on the banner |
_GRECAPTCHA | Google reCAPTCHA | 6 months | Tells people apart from automated programs on the contact and demo forms |
Google reCAPTCHA (Google Ireland Ltd) protects the forms from spam. To do this it collects technical information about your browser and device and sends it to Google. Google privacy policy.
Statistics (only with your consent)
Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Ltd) tells us, in aggregate, how many people visit the site, where they come from and which pages they read. It helps us understand which content is useful. Google Analytics 4 does not log or store full IP addresses.
| Cookie | Provider | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
_ga | Google Analytics | 2 years | Distinguishes one visitor from another |
_ga_* | Google Analytics | 2 years | Keeps the session state |
Marketing (only with your consent)
Google Ads (Google Ireland Ltd) tells us how many contact or demo requests come from our ads, so we can assess how well they work. With your consent Google may also use this data to show you Control Management ads on other sites and Google services.
| Cookie | Provider | Duration | Purpose |
|---|---|---|---|
_gcl_au | Google Ads | 90 days | Links your visit to the ad you came from |
_gcl_aw | Google Ads | 90 days | Stores the ad click identifier |
What happens if you reject
The site works the same way. We use Google Consent Mode: if you reject, Google Analytics and Google Ads do not store cookies or use identifiers in your browser. They only receive technical signals without identifiers (for example that a page was viewed or a form was sent), which they use to estimate visits and conversions statistically. If you arrive from an ad, the click code may stay in the address of the pages you visit, still without cookies.
Transfers outside the EU
Google may also process data in the United States. Google LLC is certified under the EU-U.S. Data Privacy Framework, which the European Commission found adequate in its decision of 10 July 2023.
No other external services
The site's fonts, icons and libraries are served from our own server, so your visit is not shared with other providers. The LinkedIn link at the bottom of the page is a plain link: LinkedIn only receives data if you open it.
Managing cookies in your browser
Besides the banner, you can delete or block cookies in your browser settings: Chrome, Firefox, Safari, Edge. If you block technical cookies, some features, such as sending the forms, may not work.
Your rights
You can ask for access, rectification, erasure, restriction or object to processing by writing to info@control-chem.it. You can also lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali. Details are in the privacy policy (in Italian).
Changes
We update this page when the services used by the site or the applicable rules change. The date at the top shows the latest revision. If a change concerns cookies that need consent, the banner will ask you again what you prefer.
